Cremains of 42 Unclaimed Veterans Laid to Rest by Missing in America Project – March 30

The Missing In America organization escorted 42 cremains to the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix on March 30.

These cremains were from veterans who had been in the service as far back as the Spanish American War and had never been claimed. Teams of two veterans, one carrying a marble urn and the other a flag, took the cremains to two hearses and were then escorted by more than 200 motorcycles the 25 miles to the National Cemetery from Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary. The escort spread out for about a mile, and many cars stopped as they saw the escort to pay their respects.
